CareStack: What Is It?

As many of you already know, Green Leaf Dental Care has adopted a new software in our office; CareStack. CareStack was designed to improve dental offices around the world by utilizing “cloud-based” technology. Basically, this software holds all a practice’s information in one convenient place. At our office, we made the switch not only to make our staff’s workload easier, but also to make our patients life easier. We value all our patients time and knew that getting into our office meant time away from their day. So, by switching to CareStack we have eliminated the time spent waiting in the lobby filling out paperwork. We care about our patients and wanted to make their dental visits easier on them as well as our staff’s.

Scheduling Appointments & Digital Forms - 
CareStack has many features that are valuable to you, our patients. The most notable one that we use is digital forms. When scheduling your appointment, the typical scenario is call ahead to book it and come in fifteen minutes early to fill out all the tedious forms. With CareStack, we are able to allow our patients to easily schedule online by choosing a time slot and date that works best for them instead of going back and forth with your dental office trying to find a time that works for both of you. Here, you can visibly see openings to know when your options to get in are. From there, you have your appointment scheduled, so now time to fill out your forms. These are the typical intake information you encounter in majority of medical exams; patient information, consent for treatment, Financial Policy, Teledentistry consent, and a HIPAA agreement. Usually you spend a few minutes in our waiting room filling it out, but now you can do this online prior to your appointment. This cuts out time so we can get straight to business. 

Curbside Check-In - 
Now that you have all your forms filled out and are ready for your appointment, CareStack has generated a curbside check-in feature. In light of the pandemic, waiting rooms with multiple people sitting isn’t going to happen easily, so in the meantime, our curbside check-in option gives you the opportunity to sit in your vehicle till your appointment starts. Our staff monitor check-ins with the day’s scheduled patients to make sure you are in on time and easily.

Text to Pay -
So now your appointment is finished, and it has come time to pay. CareStack created an end-to-end payment solution that lets our staff take payments directly or it allows the option for patients to pay online or be enrolled into a payment plan. Once enrolled in the plan, the ability to “text to pay” comes into play. Before CareStack, payments could be difficult for both staff and patients, but now there is a new convenient way to access it online on your patient portal.

Patient Portal – 
The last major feature our office utilizes is CareStack’s patient portal. The portal allows our patients to request appointments, electronically sign consent forms, update and personal information changes, make payments online, and view their treatment plans. This feature is unlike others. When was the last time you heard of a portal for your teeth? The portal can be accessed through CareStack online, by calling our office at (636) 671-0102, or by the initial email from our office we sent out with the invitation to join.
