Office Safety Measures

Safety Measures Green Leaf Dental Care Ensures

The pandemic was a scary time for many, leaving everyone wondering how they would safely carry on in the future. At our office we thought the same. There were many things unknown about the spread of COVID-19, but we knew that we worked on the part of the body that would be a logical explanation; the mouth.

After months of not knowing much about the virus and life after, we had time to sit and think about prevention methods and how we could apply those at the office. So mid “break” Dr. Suter went to work.

He knew extraordinary measures would need to take place in order for patients to feel safe when the time came to come back for their visits. Starting off with PPE. Protecting ourselves was just as important as the safety of our patients. All staff are required to wear their masks, even though we are all fully vaccinated. When in contact with our patients, we heighten this. Dr. Suter and Dr. Blattel add on lab coats, gloves, face shields, and N95 masks to ensure close contact is safe.

The next adjustment made to our office was the addition of an acrylic glass wall at our front desk. This barrier protects all our staff and the patients when checking them in for their appointments.

On to technology. There have been many additions to the tech world to keep the public safe, so we found a few suitable for our office. In the waiting room, we have added “Molekule” Air Purifiers. These detect and remove airborne pathogens. It is even approved by the FDA for medical use. Along with that, we have also added the HealthPro Air Purifier. This purifier is located in two of our patient exam rooms. It may look a little strange, but it does an amazing job of trapping up to 90% of the ultra fine airborne particles that may be present in the air. In the photos below, you can see it standing alone and when in use.

Among all the other little tweaks we have made in the office, the other most prominent is Teledentistry. We have talked about this before, but teledentistry really is a safe alternative of coming to the office if you don’t aren’t comfortable. Our priority is to make our patients and community feel safe and comfortable in this trying time and teledentistry gives us access to do so.

At Green Leaf Dental Care, we want you to know that things are getting better. They may not ever be the same, but we are all figuring out ways to get by. These new safety measures ensures that patients will have the best outcome when visiting and exposure is significantly lower. The dentist is becoming safe again, so plan your visit at our office and we will be sure to provide you with excellent, safe care.
